OF THE DISTRICT 

 ROTARY DISTRICT 3820 consists of over 100 clubs with approximately 2,300 active members. It encompasses nine provinces in the southern portion of the island of Luzon namely Batangas, Laguna, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, and Sorsogon, and the island provinces of Oriental Mindoro and Marinduque. The District is located south of the capital City of Manila and is accessible by land through a national highway. There are also provincial air and sea ports.

 Main industry in the District is agriculture but the government is exerting great efforts towards total industrialization. At present, there are several industrial parks where plants of different multinational companies are located.

 The region is home to natural springs, resorts, pristine beaches, and active volcanoes. World-class golf courses and other tourist destinations are also present in the area. The climate is relatively warm the whole year round. The natives are generally hospitable, cheerful, mild-mannered, highly literate (English is the second language), abreast with modern technology, urbane but the distinct Filipino trait of humility still intact.

 There are many fine schools and universities in District 3820. Several branches of the University of the Philippines, the state university, the International Rice Research Institute, the Southeast Asia Regional Center for Agriculture, etc. are present in the area.

 Rotary

 D-3820 has participated in many Rotary International programs, including Group Study Exchange (GSE) and the Youth Exchange Program. It has hosted GSE teams from Germany, USA, Canada, South America, India, as well as Rotex students from Europe and North American countries.

 There are several Matching Grant Projects being undertaken by Rotary Clubs in the District being assisted by other clubs from other parts of the world such as Day Care Centers, Health Care services for the poor and the disabled.
